Posh Spice ordered to fatten up

posh.jpg

Victoria Beckham has been ordered to bulk up for the Spice Girls World Tour. Her handlers are afraid she’s too thin to handle the grueling schedule.

She has been put on a spinach-rich diet in an attempt to gain some weight. (Spinach makes you gain weight?…WTF?)

According to a source:

“Vic is under orders to have at least five small meals a day, to get her body prepared for the tour.”

“She isn’t happy about the plan but understands that it’s necessary if she’s to stay healthy and not burn out over the coming months.”

Candids: Starlets Edition

The young and fabulous have been out and about and of course all we care about is what are they WEARING. Here’s a mixed Fendi bag of some of our favorite fashionistas.

Nicole Richie:

My usual style darling has made a misstep somewhere along this outfit. But I don’t know where it is… I like the eyelet pattern on the shirt, the scarf is cute and the sunglasses are her sig, but the whole look screams Jimi Hendrix, old Nicole wild child. Let me know what you think, because I’m torn…

Paris Hilton:

Now I normally refrain from commenting on Ms. Hilton as I think she has a much style as Victoria Beckham (take that as you wish), but she does manage to look cute here in a red stripe shirt, skinny jeans and red flats. Personally I would have lost the matchy headband and glasses, but baby steps Paris, baby steps.

Halle Berry:

Looking very casual as she runs some errands. She always looks very pulled together and simple. Oo la la to her snakeskin bag and booties.

Lindsay Lohan:

I’m always on the fence about La Lohan. There are times when she looks amazingly beautiful and then times when I wonder if the “rumors” are true and she got dressed in a haze. This, unfortunately is one of those times. You all know how I feel about stockings under shorts (see Kate Beckinsale post), so she loses points there, but then she woos with with her loosely strewn scarf (I’m a sucker for a scarf) and the aviator glasses. Chuck the stockings, add a wedge platform and we’re in business Linds.

Victoria Beckham would like a baby girl

Victoria Beckham has admitted that she would like to have a baby girl, but she has insisted that she will wait until after the Spice Girls reunion tour before having another child.

Posh Spice, who has three sons with husband David, admitted to chat show host Ellen DeGeneres that they are both keen to have a daughter.

She said: "It would be great to have a girl. It would finish the family off, and David would love a girl…but I have a big tour coming up and I don't want to get pregnant."

But she joked that they would be "practising" in the meantime.

During the interview, Beckham also revealed how her oldest son Brooklyn was adjusting to the communication differences since the move to America.

She said: "I took him to school and he met his teacher. His teacher was trying to relax him and said, 'Brooklyn, you know, what do you like?' and he said, 'Soccer!' She said, 'Do you collect anything?'

"He said, 'Yes, I collect rubbers.'"

Posh then explained that rubbers mean erasers in England, rather than condoms as in the US.

Victoria: David colour codes fridge

Victoria Beckham has revealed that husband David's obsessive-compulsive disorder has become so bad that he now colour codes their fridge.

The Spice Girl also claimed that Beckham has to vacuum in straight lines and wear a pinafore apron while he is doing so.

Victoria was being interviewed by an American radio station when she revealed the footballer's obsessions, saying: "David is very, very tidy and I am not. Even our fridge is colour coded.

"I am creative, I have clothes all over the place. If he does the cleaning, he vacuums in straight lines - in a pinny.

"And if anyone walks around after he's done it, he gets funny."

David admitted to having the disorder during an interview last year, revealing that he has to count clothes and pile magazines up in straight lines.

Victoria Beckham collection halts Canadian production

Victoria Beckham's jean collection will see its Canadian production come to an end early next year as the high Canadian dollar and a shortage of qualified workers convinced the manufacturer to venture overseas.Production of dVb jeans, designed by Victoria Beckham as part of the David Victoria Beckham empire, is being relocated to lower-cost offshore facilities, a decision that will cost about 100 Canadian jobs.

"It was a combination of the (Canadian) dollar and staffing issues, but the dollar was the straw that broke the back," said Bob Silver, president of Western Glove Works, a closely held company based in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Since reaching parity with the greenback last month, for the first time since 1976, the Canadian dollar has extended its gains and was worth about US$1.02 on Monday.

"The economics were difficult when the (Canadian) dollar was at 80 (U.S.) cents, when the dollar is at par it's almost impossible."

Relocating the Beckham line of jeans to lower-cost offshore factories represents the last 5 percent of Western Glove's production in Canada, and it points to difficulties faced by other domestic manufacturers dealing with the soaring currency.

The bulk of sales at Western Glove, whose brands also include Silver and 1921, are made outside of Canada, so a lofty Canadian dollar makes the products more expensive to foreign buyers.

The Victoria Beckham line of jeans retail for anywhere between C$250 ($255) and C$300.

"We have been steadily moving our production offshore over the last 10 years," said Silver. "I had thought that we could maintain a small facility in Canada for an extended period of time but that's just not possible."
